I am recently single and looking to meet new people. Getting back into the dating world feels weird after being out of it for 6 years.



I enjoy reading, philosophy, politics, volunteer activities, walking my dog, and very heavy gym workouts. I still have a touch of meat-headedness (not too much though) that lingers from my twenties and currently do crossfit (very grueling if you are aware); physical health is extremely important to me.



As far as my outlook on life - I am a humanist and a big Hitchens fan. Life is very short and I'd like to maximize every experience. It is important to me that I give more than I take. I want to be able to look back decades from now and know that this world is and will be better off as a result of my having lived in it. Don't mistake me for a "save the world" kind of guy; I am capable of plenty of greed.......but yes, I think its important to strive for a "we over me" mentality.



It is also important to note that I am self-employed and have a small business that I am trying to grow. This takes up lots of time during the week so neediness is not something I can consistently indulge. Sometimes it's fun though; you get a pass here and there :)



As far as my taste in music, food, culture,etc, I could not be more open minded. There is nothing I don't eat (although I do keep it strict during the week for the sake of health), there is no music I won't listen to and no person I am not accepting of so long as they are honest, respectful and tasteful.



Also, I prefer girls that are not vain. If you fake tan, can't go out without a 30 minute makeup session or are able to have your night ruined because my dog stepped on you new shoes, probably isn't going to work. My perception of beauty and sexy is health and self-respect (epitomized in actions of self-improvement), not nails and heels. Bonus points if you're into literature.
