I'm quiet and introspective by nature. This has always reflected itself in my life. I'm interested in history, medieval Japan, the American old west, medieval Europe, Cinema, non-fiction books, computers, nature, haiku, peace and social justice issues, world religions, music: rock, jazz, blues, underground radio and counter culture art. And have an interest in nature in general and hummingbirds, songbirds, native woodland plants in particular. Love to walk in the woods and also go horseback riding. I like to listen to the cicadas in the day and crickets and tree frogs at night and watch the stars on warm spring and summer evenings. I like Old West history and have a page on a well known social network I have fun with a persona called Montana Mike. I like Asian art and collect books and movies. Have always been interested in counter culture and alternative lifestyles. I was raised Catholic but left the church many years ago in my youth. To ultimately become an ordained Lay Zen Buddhist, interested in world religions, social justice, and philosophy. There is no god or "faith" in Buddhism. But I have become bored with that because of Buddhist politics. I find most religions interesting but won't practice them because I consider myself spiritual but pragmatic, level-headed, realistic and an Atheist by experience and choice. I'm also opposed to politicians and capitalism and have always been very leery of repressive governments, especially our own! I have always supported freedom of speech, civil rights and labor unions and against police state mentality. "People are more important than government and we are all equal." I'm a definite "Progressive" since the conservative's made "Liberal" a dirty word. Left of left! Is that possible? But I'm not a militant Atheist and don't think Dawkins is god and I don't like arguments, but I will come to the rescue of any of my brother and sister Atheists if they are being bullied by Christian fundamentalists. I like intelligent women who know who they are and what they want. And can temper their ego with nurturing and compassion. And that should be a two-way street. I would move for the right person and situation.
