I don't put too much stock in introspective testimonials, but hey, you have to start somewhere. You already know one important thing about me: I ain't superstitious. This is significant because it's something I chose based on logic, reason, and evidence. And I'm here to meet another like myself, with the brains and the spine to be a freethinker. Let's see, what other information will you find useful? I'm patient and easy going. I have a deep love and respect for nature. I tend to stay up late if I don't have to get up early. I'm pretty organized, but I can deal with a little chaos if I have to. I enjoy reading about and discussing diverse topics, and I'm especially interested in the place where science, art, mythology, and public policy converge. I'm pretty handy with tools and enjoy fixing things; honeydoos are no problem for me. I will gladly clean up the kitchen if you will cook the meal. Most of my TV watching is on PBS. The Newshour is a daily ritual, and if I fall asleep I will get it online later. My musical taste runs toward blues, jazz, and classical. I play guitar and sing, mostly in the counter-culture genre: Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, etc. I'm keep myself in good shape by riding bicycles and hiking. I have always enjoyed a certain mental buoyancy, but I would not exactly call myself an optimist. Rather, I see that the world is full of pain and misery, so I am pleasantly surprised when things don't go to hell and ruin - which they mostly don't, I'm happy to say. At least not yet,lol!. Yes I have been very fortunate, all in all. And my best days are still ahead of me, and I want to share them with someone special. It is a cunsummation devoutly to be wished!

My ideal first date would be the one where I meet the girl of my dreams and never have another first date.

I always wanted to fly in a glider, so I went to an airfield where, for a nominal fee, a pilot would take you up. It was even better than I had imagined, because I actually got to fly the plane. It was a good thing we landed when we did though, because when I got back on the ground I almost lost my lunch. I sometimes have dreams where I am flying planes. I enjoy them very much.
