I'm an easy going guy with a heavy inclination towards the sciences (primarily physics) and literature (primarily everything). Friends tell me that I have an odd sense of humor, and they are not wrong; I have great appreciation for absurdity in mundane situations, and take every opportunity to point them out (sometimes to random passers-by).People absolutely fascinate me, and I enjoy exchanging ideas and perspectives with everyone I meet. If I've had any amount of alcohol, people sitting adjacent to me may find themselves in the middle of an unexpected conversation about the history of the Roman Empire or recent developments in ophthalmology (possibly delivered with a mysterious Irish brogue that crops up out of nowhere...)I have an awesome position editing and coordinating publications for two scientific/medical journals in Rockville, which perfectly bridges my interests in writing/editing and the sciences.In my off hours, I read up on a wide variety of subjects, work out, and hang out with my (equally nerdy and eclectic) circle of friends. A). I majored in English and Philosophy, so my life's mission has been to litter my domicile with print and clutter my Kindle with classics .My favorite authors are Neil Gaiman,Terry Pratchett, Orson Scott Card, and Joseph Campbell, but I acquire new favorites all the time.They aren't exactly books, but I also enjoy the podcasts The Examined Life and Hardcore History.B). Stranger than Fiction has been a favorite for a while now; how could I not love an *entire movie* about breaking the fourth wall?I'm also an unabashed comic geek, so Superman, Batman, and the avalanche of Marvel super hero movies that have come out over the past several years will always have an important place in my heart.C). I just started watching Doctor Who a few weeks ago, and I am now hopelessly hooked. I also made a commitment to see every TV show or movie Joss Whedon makes: I loved Doll House, Buffy, Doctor Horrible's Sing-A-Long, and Firefly.D). I like a bunch of different artists and genres; my music collection looks like a three-ring circus.E). I'm not really picky, and will try anything once.The six things I could never do without:

I usually try to get together with some friends for dinner or coffee Friday nights; if they aren't available, I usually end up diving into a book or a podcast (or both at the same time, because I am *amazing*).The most private thing I’m willing to admit:1). I have an email account entirely dedicated to screwing with "Prince of Nigeria" scammers.2). I can't spell bananas without at least a little help from Gwen Stefani.3).
