I'm a rationalist, a free thinker, an atheist who believes nothing and operates only on working hypotheses. I want to find someone I'm passionate about and who feels the same way about me. I spend a lot of time writing, but that doesn't mean that I want to spend a lot of time alone. I like to be with someone, travel with them, share experiences with them, both the triumphs that come our way as well the hard times that life can throw at us. Honesty, openness, loyalty, communication, passion, intimacy... these are some of the things that are important to me in a relationship. I'm a passionate person. I'm passionate about story, art, science, truth, and physically passionate. I like to spend a lot of time with my partner traveling, watching movies and good television, dining together, going to museums and on long walks together. But I also spend a lot of time on my writing and book collecting. So she should know that she will also have plenty of time for her own pursuits and space. I'm not perfect, but I try. I can also be very supportive of my partner's needs. An ideal typical day would start with coffee and breakfast in the morning together. A long walk with the puppy. Some quite time writing or reading. Lunch with my partner or friends. A bit of bookbinding or research at the Huntington Library or the Bodleian if I'm in Oxford. A simple dinner for two... in or out. Maybe a little more writing. Watch a classic film or the latest good series on Netflix. Then some quality, intimate time each night together before falling asleep in one another's arms. I write a lot. Let me say that again: I spend a good deal of my time writing. But I will always make whatever time is needed for the relationship to thrive and blossom. I also have an extensive rare book collection, and I travel to libraries and museums frequently researching my particular fields of interest in the literary world. I like to spend a good deal of time outdoors—walking, snowboarding, hiking, etc. I used to sail and dive a lot and would love to find a partner who likes to be out on the ocean. I'm really passionate about my writing. Reading is up there, too, especially epic fantasy, even though I'm quite dyslexic. Movies, travel, museums, sailing, long walks, and quality time with someone special. I'm a sapiophile who's passionate about life, the arts, nature, science, and storytelling. I'm best one-on-one or with a small group of close friends. I lived on a sailboat for 15 years and would like to get back to sailing. But I'm open to less exotic travel, too. I love to travel, and the United Kingdom is my special place. I’d like to spend a few years on a narrow boat exploring the lovely British canal system. I’ve walked the Thames Path from the headwaters to London; but now I’d like to see the country from the rivers and canals. I also want to discover more of this amazing, beautiful, fragile, “little blue dot” and do so in the company of someone truly special. |
