I’m told by friends and, sometimes strangers, that they consider me to be outgoing, affable, and gregarious. I moved from state-to-state and country-to-country almost every year of my life through high school, which re-enforced an already burgeoning curiosity and inquisitiveness about pretty much everything. One friend recently remarked that I collect friends like a lint filter catches lint in the dryer – I’m seemingly predisposed to gather disparate individuals and form them into a cohesive group. When I was young, my parents purchased the Encyclopedia Britannica set from a door-to-door salesman. I read it all cover-to-cover within a few days. I still read a lot and I keep up with what’s going on in the world. A few traits I’ve acquired over the years and which I value, include humor, honesty, integrity, compassion, and communication. I also tend to suffer fools more gladly than most, but still have my limits. I made a decision while I was around 15 years old (honestly, yes, I was young, but that’s when I made the decision) to always live my life with abundance, confidence, and fearlessness. I laugh easily, often, and, fairly regularly, at myself. Those who know me often describe what they claim to be my quick, dry wit, which sometimes exposes a devilish streak of sarcasm. Finally, I’m a bit of a Sapiophile, so I'm attracted to people with access to a substantial percentage of their grey matter.

I like to find a place that has the right atmosphere and energy for an enjoyable, erudite conversation. We could grab drinks at a lounge with comfortable seating and a quite enough atmosphere to hear each other well. Most bars don’t have the atmosphere or low-decibel level for a friendly and relaxed conversation. Or, to play things very safely, we could get coffee at an independently-owned coffee shop with comfortable chairs. I find that chain coffee shops like Starbucks tend to be a much brighter, louder, and less intimate setting.

Regardless of where we meet, I prefer to find a place that has a lot of fun or interesting things and places to explore nearby. If the conversation is going well, we may want to have the option to extend the coffee or drinks date into a longer encounter and transition to another place with ease.

I have tried almost everything I have wanted to try.
