I am a lively and warm-hearted person. Though not brought up by Guardian-reading, hippy, alternative parents, i’ve grown into quite a leftie-greeny! I’m passionate about people, equality, & the environment. I’m very much a hippy - without the long hair anymore! I’m quite un-materialistic. And i’m v.e.r.y non-conformist. So, first-off, i think it best to say how paramount that is to me - if these issues are not important to you, it’s prob not worth you reading further!

What else am i passionate about? ...My personal development, psychology, most things hippy-ish (but not toooo new-age-y). Leisure-wise, my foremost lifelong passion is mountaineering. I a.d.o.r.e camping, small hippy-fests, bonfires! I do weekly african-drumming, volleyball, cycling, yoga & climbing-wall. As you can see, i’m quite physically active - & i admire that in others. Having not had kids, i suppose i’m a big kid really... ... & my friends, their kids, & I, all love that about me! I get a lot of joy from being with people of a similar wavelength, generally having fun, laughing & loving. I like hosting gatherings for my friends - shared food & garden-parties (but very casual - I don’t do ‘high-voluted’). I’m down-to-earth, well-organised, highly practical (worked most of my life ‘hands-on’); I tread lightly & live simply. And I appreciate the same in others.
I'm a very health-conscious person. People are always surprised at my age (fortunately, my family are all blessed with aging well. Yes, those are current photos of me). So most important of all... I’m young-at-heart - & for me, that’s an important trait in my partner, & the people i’v always chosen to surround myself with!

OK it's fantasy time...
Fundamental traits in a partner for me are: that she also is very clear about her principles; she most probably holds ‘alternative’ views. She will be very affectionate & tactile, with a kind heart. Ms Perfect would love the outdoors (you’ll be as excited about camping as much as me - otherwise it’s really a non-starter! The world’s out there to be seen - no point staying in!!) I am looking for someone who likes to stay highly healthy, fit & active - this means we could have fun doing things we both love - the sort of person who loves to play ‘rough & tumble’ with kids :O) (Dare i say it... a bit of a tom-boy!?!) I l.o.v.e femininity - but i’m not a fan of ‘make-up’ (apart from on the eyes - which i adore!) I admire a woman who likes to pull up her sleeves, muck in, take the initiative. A fun & romantic image i have of my dream girl is: someone who smiles at the image of both of us riding along, astride the same bike (either one of us riding on the crossbar!)

You’ll have a fab sense of humour, be open & honest, able to talk about your feelings. The person who would be right for me would be able to hold a good conversation about all sorts of subjects; taking an interest in the world. Someone i can learn from & grow with. I am looking for a very communicative partner, because this is important to me in getting the best out of a loving relationship. I’d get on best with: a partner who shares similar values; someone who’s a bit rebellious like me; with passionate interests of her own; with her own healthy circle of friends ; seeking adventure; who is ‘up for it’.

What do you get in return?
Someone who is faithful, loyal, caring, confident, highly resourceful, ...& funny. A very affectionate person, with a very conscientious & sincere character. A great many of my friends i’ve known since childhood (gulp! That’s 40+ yrs !) - they consider me a loyal & supportive friend. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and will listen to you & help you when you need it.
