I am in good shape and hve great genes. Her's a bit of a bio: Michael McEwen is a Texas-licensed real estate broker. He obtained his salesman’s license in 1989 and his broker’s license in 1991. He founded and has owned Cherokee Real Estate Company, Inc. since 1990. Prior to his real estate career Mr. McEwen spent 21 years in the operations side of retail merchandising – principally with Federated Department Stores, Inc. – in personnel, inventory management, inventory control, retail information systems and warehouse/distribution management. He was also a retail consultant with the Big Eight accounting firm of Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte Touche).

McEwen is an Ohio native, is fluent in Spanish, conversant in Portuguese and frequently provides translation services to the Chamber, the school system and law firms out of a civic obligation. McEwen is a past president of the Cherokee County Board of Realtors, has served as a board member of the Cherokee County Appraisal District and has served on Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation Economic Advisory committees, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Jacksonville Blue Ribbon Committee whose objective was to plan for the future of Jacksonville. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Smith County, Texas, Chapter of the American Red Cross and serves on the Board of Commissioners of the Jacksonville Housing Authority. He is was involved in the project known as Vision Jacksonville, whose objective is to improve the appearance of the city in order to attract more businesses and residences, thus improving the city’s economy. McEwen has been an expert witness in eminent domain property value disputes.

McEwen was educated in the New York school system and attended the University of the Americas in Mexico, D.F., Mexico, and graduated from the University of Miami in 1969, with a Bachelor Of Business Administration.
